I'm Sherrie Thorley, a qualified Acupuncturist in Shrewsbury, a member and regional coordinator of the UK regulatory body The British Acupuncture Council which holds an Accredited Register of Practitioners, approved by the Professional Standards Authority. UK members are covered by profession indemnity and public liability insurance and are governed by the councils’ code of ethics and practice. I am also a registered acupuncturist with the local authority here in Shropshire.
Graduating from The Acupuncture Academy (TAA) in Leamington Spa I was awarded a highly commended distinction for their Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, which is a three-year degree accredited by the British Accreditation Board. TAA specialises in 5 Element Acupuncture, and I worked with teachers who directly trained with the Master JR Worlsey. Aiming for the highest level of care for my patients I develop my skills through continuous professional development, having trained with many preeminent acupuncturists such as Nora Franglen, Ann Cecil-Sterman and Jonathan Robertson.
To support acupuncture, complimentary techniques such as moxibustion, cupping and TuiNa are used and acupressure for non-needle requests can be offered, this is especially useful with children.
As a certified Yoga Alliance yoga teacher I believe integrating yoga and gentle movement with the knowledge of the meridians used in Traditional Acupuncture supports the maintenance of a healthy balanced life.
